Does it bother you just a little? It does me. Sex slavery exists. Today. In 2014. It's real, it's rampant and it is unraveling right under our very noses in every country of our world.
Now, I understand, sex sells... that's how I got you to my page. I wrote and directed a provocative short film, donned lace-topped nylons and some alluring lingerie, threw my sex vulnerably and open before you and here you are. But, here is the catch... I DID THIS. No one made me. I chose. And, what's more, I enjoyed it. Filming this made me feel raw and sexy and beautiful and woman. Why? Because, I chose.
I just have a problem when women, children and yes, even men aren't given a choice. I have a problem when people believe they have the right to strip from another their God-given right to choose. You may think this revealing project is not the best way to go about this. You may think there are better ways to talk about the issue of selling sex than by selling sex, but I must come back with this... you're on my site and you're reading this blog aren't you? :)
See, I don't care how I save a life, I just want to save lives. If I can leverage something of mine [by choice] to provide an opportunity to educate and perhaps save even one life, then it's worth it. The lengths I have taken may be condemned, but at least they're being talked about, and when someone asks, "Well, why on earth would she do that..." you get to tell them why... and then another person knows that I choose, but there are upwards of 20 million people the world over who don't have that luxury.
